aside in 1974 to ensure the preservation, conservation, and protection
of the natural scenic, floral and faunal, and recreational values of the
Big Cypress Watershed. The importance of this watershed to the Everglades
National Park was a major consideration for its establishment. The name
Big Cypress refers to the large size of this area.

Pass State Park
Separated
from the mainland by mangrove swamps and tidal creeks, this recreation
area is a narrow barrier island on Florida's southwest coast. A pass on
the north end of the island is a natural outlet for the Cocohatchee River.
Everglades Day Safari
Your Everglades
Day Safari will be an exciting adventure through the different kingdoms
that make up the "Everglades." You will be accompanied by a
highly trained guide who will discuss the past, present and future of
this truly unique area. Our safaris depart Sanibel, Fort Myers, Naples
and Ft. Lauderdale each morning at 7:45 a.m. and return about 5:30 p.m.

Swampbuggy Races
"World
Famous Swamp Buggy Races," every first weekend in March, weekend
before Memorial Day weekend and every last weekend in October. Located
in beautiful Naples on Florida's Gulf Coast. Four-hour show featuring
a variety of classes from Jeeps to monster modified V8s. Track is submerged
in water, which provides additional challenges to man and machine in this
"Mile O' Mud." Side attractions include swamp buggy rides for
all ages.
Teddy Bear Museum
Nestled
amid a stand of tall pines, a "dream home for teddy bears" beckons
visitors to come in and stay awhile. Bears from all over the world are
exhibited in this most unusual museum. Bears representing the world's
most imaginative bear designers working in fabric, marble, crystal, wood
and bronze, in every shape and size are ready to delight the young at
heart of every age. Every year, more than 40,000 visitors from around
the world are greeted by the friendly bears, staff and volunteers at the
Teddy Bear Museum.
Wooten's Everglades Adventure
